<p>Astrologers and clairvoyants, two socially different worlds</p>
<p>We have long noted that a group is not defined so much by the nature of its displayed “object” as by that of its members or at least the vast majority of them. Sometimes, in fact, certain people get lost within a group that does not correspond to them socially. Sometimes, groups with similarities in their purpose differ significantly in their sociological base. Note that certain divergences within the same group are secondary with regard to what otherwise binds its members, at a more fundamental level (sex, race, religion, region, culture, etc.)</p>
<p>This is how the world of astrologers differs from that of clairvoyants, despite certain convergences of practices.</p>
<p> On the one hand, we have people who use knowledge allowing them to decode – at least that is what is supposed – the signs of which their clients are the bearers, the vehicles. (Astrology, Tarot, Numerology, Yi King etc). These practitioners are not supposed to possess particular qualities, they do not go to the source, they are located downstream, as it were, when the signs are already manifest/manifested, presented as it were on a platter.</p>
<p>On the other hand, we have a completely different population which is located further upstream and which seeks information from the source thanks to the mediumship of its members. What these practitioners of another type (clairvoyance, spiritualism) will express are things that they capture thanks to their sensitivity.</p>
<p>We usually say that in the first group, it is the client who is the medium and in the second it is the practitioner.</p>
<p>From such observations, one will not be too surprised to learn that the first group is more “intellectual” than the second, more “air” than “water”, according to the Astrological Elements. Hence the complex and complicated relationships of the first group with academic circles due to the importance given to a bookish, iconographic and symbolic tradition. Conversely, the second group will be of more interest to parapsychologists, metapsychists who will note the existence of certain powers. The dialectic of knowledge and power characterizes such a divide.</p>
<p>In both cases, entry into the profession, into the profession of practitioner, is often done at a second stage (second choice). We learn astrology or numerology for ourselves before practicing it, we become aware of our “gifts” (often hereditary) before thinking about trading in them. Hence the paths that are often very different from one socio-professional category to another.</p>
<p>We would say that those who come to astrology often betray a certain lack of sensitivity which they hope to compensate for by using the astrological tool. Conversely, mediums are beings who intuitively sense many things and who may wish to support their statements through astrology. Hence a false trial regarding references to astrology among people who only know it very superficially. We forget that these are only pretexts and that the clairvoyant does not really rely on astrology, that he only looks for cross-references. The astrologer needs glasses to see (glasses to be taken in the astronomical and optical sense) and if he loses these, he is reduced to impotence.</p>
<p>Ultimately, the value of the astrologer remains largely dependent on the quality of his tools, hence a certainemulation to advance, to improve these while the value of the seer is a function of his personal potential, of something more interior, more visceral.
We will have understood that the astrologer will attach the greatest importance to everything that culture can bring him, to everything that is “hanging around” in libraries, museums and from which he could benefit, whereas the clairvoyant is closer to Nature and will especially work on himself, to “develop” his talents, a bit like an athlete.</p>
<p> Such differences in itineraries and motivations can, it will be admitted, only lead to different profiles. And even the most “gifted” astrologer will be marked by the quest for tools, to look for in books and even the most successful clairvoyant will first have to work on himself.</p>
