A social, economic and fiscal reality
Since 1987, we have been working to shed light on the dubious and charlatanesque practices of a large number of professional usurpers who have infiltrated the world of clairvoyance and astrology. This activity has become a profession in its own right, allowing anyone to call themselves a medium, clairvoyant or astrologer and thus deceive the uninformed consumer.
Clairvoyance and the so-called parallel sciences have become a real industry, but an industry of human distress: it is not uncommon to see certain pharmacies (audiotel services) run by notorious dealers, counting several dozen pseudo-practitioners, who pompously proclaim themselves: mage, clairvoyant, astrologer or even advisor, trained to use specific techniques of manipulation and conditioning, intended to further weaken the consumer. This is how many consumers were simply ruined.
Since its creation, INAD has continued to alert public authorities to obtain a minimum of regulation in the interest of both consumers and rigorous and honest professionals because, let us not forget, they exist and their social role is undeniable. Some will say: But how can we regulate the wind? The answer can be contained in a few sentences because we have proposed solutions, a real bulwark against abuse and scams of all kinds and which are quickly operational:
- The establishment of a professional card for the entire profession, issued under certain conditions to certified practitioners and confirmed by a college of professionals (on the same model as the order of doctors or lawyers).
- The approval, implementation and application of the Moral Charter of the Profession, which leaves no loopholes, no possibility of bargaining, rigging or fraud.
- The creation and/or designation of a specific organization or department bringing together all activities of the divinatory arts in order to ensure control, surveillance of illicit practices and the census of all legally declared practitioners. In addition, this body could serve, as the INAD currently does, as a mediator and would have the power to contact the consumers concerned, receive them, open a file, investigate it, and render a decision which will be binding on the interested parties. Failing this, the mediator could then have the option of transmitting the file to the courts, with all the known consequences. It is worth emphasizing that the creation of such an organization can work if it is established without state subsidies.
This last proposal seems to us to be the best adapted to the current situation in order to protect the consumer in the jungle of the divinatory arts but also to make the entire profession aware that there are rules to observe and limits not to cross.
