History

INAD was founded in 1987, on the initiative of Youcef SISSAOUI with the collaboration of Messrs: Jacques Bonnaud, Francis Clément and Maîtres Alain Stutz and Michel Dughet (lawyers).

Role

The National Institute of Divinatory Arts (INAD) is at the origin of the first Moral and Professional Charter likely to satisfy Practitioners and consultants. This organization is independent of any group of firms or professionals, and its role is to inform the public and consumer-consultants in general on the limits and fields of application of the divinatory arts, including on the so-called occult practices exercised by certain professionals…

The INAD supports consumers, victims of all kinds of these activities, and more generally all ancillary and complementary activities: collection of complaints, conciliation, legal recourse by the association if necessary to support clients - consumers, complainants - victims of fraudulent maneuvers by certain professionals in the divinatory arts.

The INAD always intervenes as far as possible as an amicable composer between the parties to resolve problems involving a professional or the firm for which he works. This is how dozens of files involving hundreds of thousands of euros have been handled amicably, with complete discretion.

The INAD knows, thanks to the consultants/complainants on the one hand, and the investigation it carries out on the other hand, the real, supposed or overrated value of professionals in clairvoyance, astrology, etc.

INAD also informs practitioners of their rights and duties towards consultants and the administrations concerned…

The INAD strives to give back to the exercise of the divinatory arts its rightful place. Thanks to its founding members, the relevance of its collaborators (members, lawyers, journalists, psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, etc.) and the generosity of its volunteers, the INAD carries out strong, positive actions and fulfills a mission of public utility.

Since 1987, INAD has worked to lift the “shadow” that weighs on the divinatory arts and to shed “light” so that each consultant, practitioner, curious intellectual can establish reference elements, thus promoting an approach based on transparency.

Consumer Department Information, prevention and consumer protection To fill the legal void surrounding the divinatory arts, to compensate for the lack of regulation of the profession, in order to protect consumer consultants from all forms of abuse and false advertising, the INAD supervises the exercise of these professions by establishing a register of professionals who undertake on their honor to respect the ethical rules set out in the said charter. This list is addressed to anyone who requests it. It is in all circumstances a point of reference and a reference for clients – consumers who can legitimately question the real or supposed skills of certain practitioners. INAD thus contributes to the establishment of unequivocal relationships between consumers concerned about their future and trustworthy practitioners, whose skills would be recognized.

Professional department The professional card> …The profession of divinatory arts is a service profession, of a civil and liberal nature, which does not imply its registration in the trade and company register, according to the services of the Ministry of Labor, except, of course, when it is exercised in the form of a company (…) and does not fall within the traditional craft professions (…) this economic activity calls for registration in the SIRENE directory, held by INSEE… concerning the standards, quality and services that it was due to the profession to promote - if necessary - the certifications which it considers appropriate (…).

To this end, INAD is at the origin of the first moral, professional and ethical charter which contains rules of which members undertake in writing to scrupulously respect them under penalty of being excluded. The fundamental principles of this charter are loyalty, sincerity, honest pricing and corresponding to any consultation of a man of the art possessing knowledge and who must price in advance in reasonable proportions and within everyone’s reach. .

The said Charter also provides for the exclusion of any esoteric practice having no connection with reality such as: magic, witchcraft, maraboutage, bewitchment… whose aim is to rob the honest through mental manipulation, fear and anguish.

The legal service

As the profession of divinatory arts is not subject to any specific regulations, it inevitably finds itself subordinated to the false propaganda of certain pseudo-professionals practicing despite common sense or even with complete impunity. The INAD centralizes complaints, morally and legally supports victims of abuse and/or scams with the collaboration of qualified lawyers, in the case and only in the case where its amicable mediation fails. Through the INAD, cases of abused or dissatisfied customers involving hundreds of thousands of euros have been handled amicably with the utmost discretion.

INAD is also consulted by various organizations and state services: written, spoken, television press, police, justice, national gendarmerie.

Controversy

It is in reality mainly criticized, according to the French Association for Scientific Information (AFIS), of being both judge and party, of offering a “label” for good clairvoyants, those it selects. And also to suggest that there is a serious basis for clairvoyance and the divinatory arts.

Contrary to what is stated by the French Association for Scientific Information (AFIS), INAD is not an organization of soothsayers but a (non-profit) association for information, consumer protection and the moralization of the profession. Who can claim today to prohibit faith, beliefs or spirituality? If hope gives life, despair “kills”.

According to the French Association for Scientific Information (AFIS), the simple existence of a professional organization of diviners, which communicates its concern for the protection of consumers against charlatans, swindlers and other unsavory people who would encumber the profession, signals the simultaneous affirmation that there could be some basis for the “divinatory arts” (following the institute’s list: mediumship, clairvoyance with or without support, astrology, palmistry, cartomancy, mediumistic parapsychology, dowsing research, numerology, coffee grounds, ink stains, etc.)

For INAD,

It is no longer a question of questioning, today, the existence or non-existence of paranormal phenomena, but of facing a situation which generates thousands of scams and as many individual tragedies at the expense of a population in social or psychological distress. And this, by playing on mental manipulation, fear, frustrations and the lack of information to the public on the nature of divinatory acts.

JusticeSome of its detractors: doubtful professionals and clairvoyance firms and notorious profiteers, having questioned the honesty of the INAD, were convicted of defamation and the judgment rendered by the Court of Appeal in favor of 2 other firms responsible for serious abuses was purely and simply annulled and overturned without referral by the Court of Cassation. The President of INAD has always been exonerated.

Its initiatives and interventions are multiple.

INAD’s moral charter

In order to moralize and clean up the profession, to act on the daily misdeeds of certain professionals who transgress the law, the INAD offers the entire profession and in particular honest and serious practitioners a Moral and Professional Charter. The said charter is a true code of ethics likely to satisfy consultants and practitioners. Applied and respected, this code is able to offer a guarantee against the excesses and abusive excesses of certain people which discredit the profession.
