“Man is structured much more by what worries him than what reassures him”
Is it in the light of this thought that God, the God of monotheists and especially of Judaism, will always remain the object of permanent research and that in this process of constant becoming, man finds, in the broad sense of the terms, the means to structure himself and formulate his personality?
The personality of each individual is also made up of a dimension which projects them into the future, this tomorrow which seems unpredictable, despite all the progress in science and knowledge. It is this irrational, illogical dimension that pushes man to the greatest achievements or even to a decline that he finds himself incapable of controlling. So for example, this overused feeling, love, is part of this irrationality which causes beings to attract each other initially without objective evidence, and it is only a posteriori that we begin to justify this attraction according, naturally, to a reference to the first experience buried in our unconscious. And even this reason is not sufficient, because “I love” is different, irrational, more subtle than “I like”, rational and which well circumvents its object among the Anglo-Saxons.
For the man that I am, clairvoyance intervenes to reassure me about this moving future, this tomorrow which escapes me for the moment and induces this anxiety which leads me to movement. It says that the rational that defines my reason, my knowledge, is completed, finished, in the sense that I see its limits. The human mind can envisage the infinitely large up to a certain limit beyond which it was an indefinable black hole, the tomb perhaps. And in the domain of the infinitely small, of which scientists continue to push the limits, there are atoms which would be considered as entities yet to be deciphered. Thus, man is always inclined to want to know more about himself first and then about his world, his environment. Made up of beings and things. Because after all, mental health can be defined as harmony with oneself and with one’s environment. But since science is currently unable to complete the knowledge of these two benchmarks - the self and others - clairvoyance intervenes to give substance to this irrational and reassure the individual about their future and consolidate this projective dimension of their personality. This prevents the individual, in the absence of a normal expression of this anxiety, from sinking into the truncated language of mental illness: madness.
We must emphasize here that the history of medicine has revealed that the first therapists were soothsayers who relied on occult forces to obtain healings. It is therefore not surprising that in our traditional African environments, we first consult the diviner before going to a modern care unit, the dispensary. The patient is thus reassured about his fate, if the venal appetite of a practitioner of traditional medicine does not lead him to deprive himself of rational care appropriate to his case of organic illness. Let us note here that traditional medicine generally based on divination, therefore clairvoyance, for diagnosis, has its field of effectiveness especially in the field of mental illnesses. A good half of the number of African member states of the World Health Organization do not have Western-trained psychiatrists. The mentally ill are still in the hands of traditional medicine practitioners withcertain effectiveness. This traditional African medicine emphasizes the problems of human relationships and particularly the extended family. Privileged domain which is claimed by the name of Guru awarded among others to Jacques Lacan in his time.
A study perhaps to be carried out would probably reveal the parallel between the profile of the clairvoyance client and that of the patient in psychoanalysis. It is always an exploration of the irrational which is inscribed in the unconscious which is the major motivation of these approaches - the difference between these two procedures - clairvoyance and psychoanalysis - would be that clairvoyance is punctual and of momentary effectiveness even if it is projective, while psychoanalysis introduces a process of evolution and personal work on the part of the patient. The fact remains that both awaken in the individual the desire to know more about their future, this future which distresses them. This anxiety is naturally of varying intensity in each person who assumes it according to their means. This is how some go from one clairvoyant to another without ever finding any reference to their discomfort which ends up resulting in esoteric and obsessive practices which inhibit any effort towards normal personality development. In short, Clairvoyance, since the dawn of time, has had a preponderant role in the mental balance of man by providing him with benchmarks in his emotional and professional life, and in his health. They are, after all, only intuitive benchmarks to which the client must apply his rationale in a defined context to structure his existence. Even if Astrology gives itself a scientific stamp, this does not prevent the irascible or the lymphatic from making efforts to control their instincts in order to be master of their destiny.
