My name is Roxana, my nickname is… on the Cosmospace website. The scenario to follow was simple, you had to get the client (or client) to talk, by making them tell a part of their life. Determine the client’s expectations, then ask questions: “How long did this relationship last?”, “How long have you been alone?”, and announce that it was because of a “sterile dialogue” or a “lack of dialogue” that the couple had separated (in the case of a romantic breakup). To avoid drama (the manager clearly told me that she had already had “people committing suicide while they were on the phone with [us]”, and that she had to call the emergency services to send them to the homes of these poor people), we had to set up appointments every week with the people to “take stock” and continue to get them to talk, leaving “always a hope” and explaining that we felt a “wave of positive energy” coming, but that it was going to take time. (the predictions were valid for “6 to 10 weeks”). The ex-partner was “not ready” to return at the moment (for various reasons). I had a “support” role…
We then had to wait for customers to call back regularly, until one day they finally told us that they couldn’t wait any longer and had decided to move on. To which we had to respond that it was good that they had made this decision, because “positive waves” were arriving en masse to change their lives. To get them to “transfo” (“transformation, i.e. going from simple consultation at €0.34 per minute to private consultation at €15 for 10 minutes, then €4.50 per additional minute), we had to insist on the fact that we could provide them with more information in private. The sentence to say: “Give me 10 minutes”, that will allow me to teach you more. We had to ask for 4 numbers from 1 to 22 (in my case) and whatever they were, I had to rant about what the consultant had just told me. The slogan “At the end of the transformation, you accelerate to move them into prol’” (extension at €4.5 per minute). I had to keep the customer in suspense in order to make them pay as much as possible, because the first 3 minutes of extension were not counted if the customer hung up before the end of the 3rd minute of extension (it took a minimum of 4 minutes for them to be billed) The only positive point: if we did not respect the beep indicating the end of the 10 minutes by notifying the customer, the extension had to be offered (this is what was said in the chat of which I kept a screenshot). I was criticized for being “too direct” and for not giving people enough time on the phone. I didn’t know how to embroider, so sometimes the manager would take the communication in progress to tell me the phrases to repeat to the customer, to encourage them to go through the process with me, or how to turn away customers who didn’t want to pay more.
I specify here that all parts in quotation marks are the exact words of the person responsible.
… I will indicate to you for information purposes the remuneration and some other details: €5 excluding tax/hour generated, €0.28 excluding VAT/minute for calls from Switzerland, Belgium, Canada and Luxembourg.
For bank card payments: Turnover from 0 to €4,999 excluding tax: 28% payment, Turnover from €5,000 to €11,999 excluding tax: 30% repayment, Turnover from €12,000 to €19,999 excluding tax: 32% repayment, CA tofrom €20,000 excluding tax: 35% payment. Furthermore, during what was a mock job interview, done by telephone, I was assured that the equipment deposit check in the amount of €200 would not be cashed. However, upon receipt of my contract (which I will provide if you wish), I learned that the check would be cashed after “two completed months of activity”. I had accepted a working hours of 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive. For my part, I did not sell any packages, since it is the standard that is supposed to do so, to receive a commission of 2.5% of the price of the package. According to the contract (article 10): “The advisor will be responsible for all financial consequences of bodily, material and/or immaterial damage (including image) resulting or not suffered by the client and his customers during the execution of this contract.” In fact, Cosmospace subcontracts for many other partners. Employees give each connection their agreement to adhere to the “Charter of Ethics” which I could send to you if you need it, as well as the contract and its amendment. There you go, I hope to have provided the most complete testimony possible. To tell you the truth, I actually thought I would make quite a bit of money, because my personal career is struggling to take off and I thought I would “make a name” for myself, but I don’t want to take advantage of the moral distress to this extent. In the end, I played the role of psychologist more than medium.
I’m crossing my fingers hoping that my mishap will help others not to make the same mistakes as me.
