Automatic writing

It is undeniable that the phenomenon of “automatic writing”, or direct writing, has remained one of the most exciting in the world of parapsychology and the paranormal.

“Automatic writing” remains, as we know, one of the most used means of corresponding with the beyond, its goal having always been to prove the existence of a kind of intelligent communication between the living and the dead, and this since the work of Allan Kardec who, in France, is considered the founder of spiritualism.

The origin of the phenomenon.

But it should also be remembered that the origin of automatic writing dates back to Frederick Myers, a scholar who passionately believed in another life after death and who committed himself to establishing a system of communication between the world of the living and the afterlife.

In around thirty years, this man would have dictated more than 2,000 messages from beyond the grave to different mediums, but of such complexity not only to confuse the skeptical, but above all to bring a stamp of authenticity among all the spiritualist attempts already used. Taken in isolation, it seemed that each fragment of the message, some transmitted in Greek or Latin, was devoid of any meaning, but when adjusted to other fragments dictated from the four corners of the planet, the general meaning of the message emerged. And the work undertaken brought the conclusion that Myers presented himself as the transmitter of the messages recorded by the different mediums. The latter being classified among the best that Myers knew during his lifetime both for their qualities of intelligence and for their gifts in automatic writing. Even today, deciphering these messages requires lengthy research work and it is certain that results are still to come.

Xenoglossia and telemnesia automatic in several languages, like William. S. King, including Urdu, Greek and Hebrew, languages ​​he never studied.

This knowledge of an unlearned language is called “Xeneglossia”, but we could also speak of “Telepathic Clairvoyance” or “telemnesia” which supposes a medium capable of capturing linguistic knowledge from a person close to them or even very far away. These hypotheses are quite daring but it is especially important, in the present study, to bring into play the intervention of disembodied spirits, either through “psychography” or “pneumography”, the latter being a direct writing obtained without the aid of the hand or the pencil. All you have to do is place a folded sheet of white paper in a cabinet drawer and after a while you will find the paper covered with words and sentences drawn either in pencil or in ink. The fact is very rare, however it does exist.

What is confusing is the often enigmatic meaning of these messages, but there are also very clear ones.

What does this phenomenon consist of?

If the reader wants to try the experiment, he will first have to find a calm and quiet place, particularly protected from outside noise and unplugged phones, of course. You sit at a table as comfortably as possible, avoiding bright lights, soft light is indeed preferable. Take several blank pages, a pen or pencil and meditate for a moment by addressing an evocation to God, as recommended by Allan Kardec. Whatever the prayer, the words must come from the heart to ask God to allowto a good spirit to enter into relationship with you. You will also need to ask for assistance from your “guardian angel” so that he can ward off evil spirits that could intervene in the contact that will be established.

Take your pencil, gently place the tip on a sheet of paper, stay relaxed, breathe calmly and avoid thinking about your daily worries. After a while you will notice that a kind of invigorating energy is penetrating you. From this moment on, do not make the mistake of trying to communicate with a spirit of your choice, parents or friend, who is not always in the best conditions to communicate with you. We must also allow other spirits to manifest.

Even if at first you don’t get results, don’t be discouraged, it can last for hours. Be aware that you are entering into contact with a different world that has absolutely nothing in common with ours. Time itself is different. You must therefore be patient and do not rush anything. Repeat the experience every day, around fifteen minutes is enough.

And then this happens.

At this moment, you feel a slight tremor in the hand holding the pencil. The first signs will appear on paper. This may first appear as illegible scribbles, incoherent figures, and this is when you can begin to question the spirit that is seeking to contact you.

This time again be careful, do not ask any questions about the afterlife. If answers are sometimes given, they are only given at very high experimental levels, but this is very rare. Also avoid banalities and pointlessness which would only exasperate the mind which, in this case, would risk breaking contact. Your questions must be clear, straightforward, simple whether they concern your own problems or those of people around you: work, health, romantic relationships or moral issues. . Little by little you will notice that the writing has improved to the point of becoming identical to yours. You will also notice that each personality from the beyond retains its own identity, regardless of the person in which it is incorporated: nature of the responses, way of expressing itself, verbal clichés, style of the text obtained. That is to say the intimate nature of each personality.

When modern parapsychology intervenes

Questions have been asked: are these messages from disembodied spirits or simply repressions from the subconscious of the person writing? In the 2nd case, which obviously affects the skeptical, it could be that the practitioner imagines entering into a relationship with a missing being to become the victim of an autosuggestion. I will not reject this possibility having myself had the opportunity to study the basis of direct writing but I can also assure that there are authentic ones that current science cannot contest.

First of all, it is enough to compare the text coming from a deceased person with others having been written during their lifetime. Today the computer brings us scientific certainty of the survival of the spirit after physical death by establishing a principle of identity between several texts written by the same person, mental imprints playing a very large role in this graphological process. The same goes for signatures.

In this regard, we can cite the accuracy of the results obtained inon the subject of the works of Shakespeare (or at least signed Shakespeare) which could not have been written by Lord Bacon, as some have supposed and even affirmed, likewise on the subject of the curious messages of Oscar Wilde, not only with the circumstances of his life totally unknown to the mediums, but also by the identity of the mentality and the style. In these two cases the mental identities are well confirmed.

What if we talked about the Ouija board?

The ouija board is often used in automatic writing. The process is very simple. On this board, mounted on casters, you place your hand, with a pencil attached to its end. This is placed on a sheet of paper containing the letters of the alphabet as well as the numbers from O to 9. As soon as the board begins to slide on the printed sheet, the pencil, letter after letter, forms words, numbers, dates of birth or others and the messages are thus formed.

Unbelievable but true

We cite some exceptional facts with the spirit of Patience Worth who, in June 1913, appeared at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Curran, in Saint Louis in the United States. This person said he lived in England in the 17th century. She dictated to Ms. Curran a series of historical novels and 60,000-word poems in 17th-century Anglo-Saxon dialect, and another 222-page work in just 35 hours. So Ms. Curran and her secretary were not always able to follow the dictation when it became too rushed. And when a leaflet was poorly written, Patience Worth would redict it again. This lasted from 1912 to 1937. It should be noted that Mr Curran had left school at the age of 14 and that his knowledge, historical and literary, was far from satisfactory. So how could this date have written works with characters with characters drawn with real power and a perfect knowledge of the Anglo-Saxon language of the 18th century? Should we admit that she wrote directly, her hand guided by the spirit of the dead woman?

The same question arises about Geraldine Cummins, considered one of the most famous spiritualist writers in the world. To his credit, around fifteen books dictated from the beyond. during a public session which has remained memorable in the history of mediumship; this young Irish woman wrote exactly 1750 words in 65 minutes and the text was published under the title Scripts of Cléophas. We know of another work of a million words, from Greek, Latin and Hebrew, languages which were absolutely unknown to him.

Another curiosity is to be noted in the case of Geraldine Cummins when we learn that American President Franklin Roosevelt, who died in 1945, appeared one day in 1948 in his writings to tell her that a war was going to break out 2 years later in Korea and this with the most impressive details. He even announced to him that General de Gaulle would become president of the French in 1958. His writings, still preserved, are among the most moving that automatic writing offers us.

Among the most incredible cases, we can still cite that of Margot William who, in the summer of 1980, recorded more than 4,000 psychic writings dictated by more than 360 disembodied spirits, of Stella Horroks who recorded messages from famous deceased people, such as President John F. Kennedy, the film star David Niven and the politician Lord Louis Mountbatten.

We could also recall the extraordinary intervention ofThomas P. James, this young man with rudimentary education who one day declared that he was under the influence of the spirit of Charles Dickens, claiming to be able to write the second part of “The Mystery of Enwin Drood”, a novel that Dickens had not been able to complete during his lifetime. Did he really write under Dickens’ dictation? Still, the second part of the work appeared in November 1873 and to everyone’s astonishment, it was found to be absolutely consistent with the genius of Dickens. The pastiche was absolute perfection. Oddly enough, young James no longer showed any literary talent. After this work he died and everyone forgot him. The most incredible thing about this story is that during his lifetime the famous author of “Olivier Twist” declared that he had produced ¾ of his work using “automatic art”. And we find the same assertions in Marie Shelley, the author of “Frankenstein” and Stevenson, the father of the famous “Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde.” Other renowned authors have made the same statements

We can also talk about musicians…

Important musical and pictorial works have also been dictated to artists who participated in “automatic art”, such as Clifford Emtickmak who openly declares having written “Beyond the Veil” in this way, an oratorio inspired by Handel, the brilliant composer of Messiah.

We can also cite the famous conductors Leonard Bernstein, Richard Bennett and Von Karajan as well as the famous concert pianist Hephzibah Menuhin, who declared themselves strongly impressed by these works from the beyond to which they themselves provided no earthly explanation.

…and also painters.

Many current painters claim to have created their paintings under the inspirations and dictations of Modigliani, Dürer, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, paintings all executed between three or four minutes, hardly more.

One of the most prominent is certainly the Brazilian Luiz Gasparetto who, in his normal state, is incapable of sketching the slightest sketch. When he is in front of his canvas, the work is always a first draft without retouching or correction. These paintings could be signed Renoir or Modigliani and no one would know the difference. Style, colors and graphics are exactly the same. Even an expert would be wrong. The experiment has been done. But Gasparetto does not benefit from this donation, because his paintings have always been sold for the benefit of charity.

Motor automation? Repressed psychosexual creativity?

Certainly, these questions come to mind but we can also think that these works could also belong to a “universal knowledge”, this immense reservoir of thoughts which, according to certain researchers, exists in the universe and from which a few rare spirits possessing extreme sensitivities and completely unknown mediumship talents would innocently draw.

This hypothesis is attractive but in no way applicable and we understand it, in the relationships that exist between the world of the living and that of the dead, especially when we consider the phenomenon of automatic writing which puts us in contact with deceased people. The link is direct and in no way borrows from this “universal knowledge” of which I have just spoken.

A manuscript lost and found

The following example, even if it does not involve any system of graphology between a living and a dead person, nonetheless proves thesurvival of the spirit in the afterlife. It is that of Dante, the author of the “Divine Comedy”, a work considered one of the greatest masterpieces of universal literature.

When he died in 1321, his two sons, Jacopo and Pietro, realized that the Comedia manuscript was unfinished. They searched the house for the missing pages, looked through all of their father’s writings, but in vain, the manuscript remained nowhere to be found.

It was then that some time later, Jacopo had a strange vision: that of his father and his father spoke to him as if he were alive. When asked by his son and having assured him that his work was finished, Dante indicated the location where the rest of the manuscript was located. The two brothers discovered it in a small opening made in a wall of the main room and already covered with mold. And it is thus, thanks to this intervention from beyond and without the aid of direct writing, that the “Divine Comedy” has reached us in its entirety.
