…Following an advertisement published in a newspaper, I contacted Madame C. who practices under the name of Mme ..residing.. in Lyon for a job in order to reconcile my little daughter with her mother, which was important to me given that I am old and sick.
She assured me of the result within fifteen days maximum. I was naive enough to take her word for it when she told me that she was sure of the result.
I paid for the work in two checks, photocopies of which I am giving you herewith. You will notice that the checks were cashed by two different people. Previously, I had asked her in what name I should make out the checks, but she had told me that it was her accountant who should be responsible for cashing them. Not seeing any results, I called her on several occasions and it was, supposedly, her sister who answered me, telling me that Mrs. “C” had had a car accident in Haiti and that she was between life and death and that she would reimburse me on her return. However, I went back to her house but she didn’t open it and it was her neighbors who only showed her real name on her mailbox and assured me that she was still there.
I told her that I would contact the Public Prosecutor, she replied that “she didn’t care” because my complaint would not be taken into consideration…
