Reflection on clairvoyance in the office and by telephone

Since the repeal of article R 34.7 on March 1, 1994, clairvoyance and the divinatory arts have been officially recognized as a profession in its own right in France. This recognition should have provided a regulatory framework and some oversight, but unfortunately, this sector remains largely uncontrolled, leaving the door open to anyone wishing to proclaim themselves a medium, clairvoyant, mage or sorcerer.

This lack of regulation has led to considerable price diversity from one platform to another and from one practitioner to another during telephone consultations. While this openness may seem welcoming, it also carries major risks. The world of clairvoyance, by leaving its doors open to all, has become a fertile ground for abuse and scams of all kinds.

The INAD, aware of the multiple abuses in this profession, believes that no clairvoyance consultation, whatever the real or supposed reputation or competence of the practitioner, should exceed 90 euros per hour in the office and 60 euros per hour by telephone. This recommendation aims to protect customers from abusive practices and exorbitant prices often charged during telephone clairvoyance consultations. We remind you that a good consultation must take place in calm and serenity; under no circumstances should the customer worry about the clock ticking.

A comparison with other health and wellness professions highlights a shocking disparity. Psychoanalysts, psychiatrists, doctors and surgeons, after long years of study and training, often charge fees of less than 100 euros. This observation raises legitimate questions about the justification of the prices applied in the field of clairvoyance, which is essentially based on virtual and sometimes questionable practices.

Faced with this reality, INAD invites responsible practitioners to review their fees and to devote the necessary time to their clients, whether for in-office consultations, considered a more authentic consultation, or by telephone. It is imperative that clairvoyance professionals become aware of their responsibility towards those who seek their help. Consumer clients must also exercise caution and discernment in choosing their practitioner, being wary of extravagant promises and overly tempting offers.

Professionals and consumers are invited to participate in this reflection and to give their opinion on this important question for the future of the practice of clairvoyance. It is time to promote ethical and responsible practice, where kindness and transparency guide exchanges between clairvoyants and consultants.
