While an investigation is still underway, the case of the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar raises many questions and fuels the most improbable speculations. It is the story of a couple who are torn apart, against the backdrop of divorce, which becomes enigmatic and extremely publicized when we learn that the mother of the family has disappeared. A bundle of clues fuels the accusations and the hypothetical concealments of the wife’s body.
So so-called clairvoyants-mediums seize the news item and exploit it to highlight their more or less dubious gifts. Some say that the missing person is dead and that her body is in a certain place, or even that she was cremated to make all traces disappear, while others still say that the assassin is a cardiologist. Or that she was pregnant by her lover. It goes without saying that these ‘‘crystal ball and tarot enthusiasts’’ have found a new playground there, where hypotheses, each more eccentric than the other, are rife. This is how a fortune teller*, a so-called clairvoyant, sets out to investigate in order to find missing people. It is therefore on her YouTube channel that the clairvoyant and her colleague will indulge in a real sketch, not fun at all, using several divinatory practices, such as spiritualism via automatic writing, card drawing or the pendulum, the use and fanciful interpretation of which did not fail to challenge us. Its aim would supposedly be to try to guide investigators into the disappearance of Madame Jubillar. Not only does this “so-called clairvoyant” invent and say anything from certain elements taken here and there from the press, which allows her to give free rein to her imagination, to her delusional interpretations of the tarot and to the guided oscillations of her pendulum to which she gives all the interpretations, even the most improbable. Madame Jubillar has, let us remember, disappeared since December 16, 2020. The husband of the young Tarn nurse, Cédric Jubillar, has been placed in pre-trial detention since June 18. The clairvoyant proposes to focus the research around water points and gives contradictory indications, without forgetting to accuse and slander in passing and to provide details which bind her.
Faced with people who are resistant to her predictions, the clairvoyant defends herself by emphasizing that if it is disturbing it is because she is close to reality! Her revelations are made to help elucidate the matter, according to her. News items are his hobby horse. But then what is justice for? The people who are outraged by the attitude of the clairvoyant-detective claim that such actions and interventions on the public stage can harm the proper progress of the investigation and can also be defamatory and slanderous. It is about respect for everyone, for the entire family, for children and for the body that justice represents within our society. Denigration of some, accusations made against others, random clues, many get involved in stories that absolutely do not concern them. Is it about gaining notoriety, visibility? “In Canada, clairvoyants are living Gods… In France, they are not open enough…” says the person concerned. Justice more easily accepts the help of mediums across the Atlantic. Here, the jungle represented by the large community of mediums and clairvoyants of all kinds, opens the door tonumerous excesses, excesses which have no place. How then can we give credit to people working on YouTube or other social networks who, let’s face it, trample on the ground reserved for legal professionals? The information disclosed here and there, by clairvoyants in need of customers and thirsty for notoriety, is raining down all over the place.
All things considered, justice, the investigators, just like the family, keep at bay the fortune tellers, the false prophets and the charlatans of all kinds who are sweeping this sad affair. The family (brother and sister) of Delphine Jubillar calls for greater restraint: “We ask you to no longer make up stories in our name and not to get involved in your theories…”
