Lola affair: the limits of indecency

We had already been sounding the alarm for several months about their fraudulent practices, but today the scammers and counterfeiters of clairvoyance have taken the step too far. We knew they had no morals or ethics, but they went beyond limits that no one could envisage to achieve ignominy. Focus.

Horror is in all minds, on all lips; posted and relayed on all channels and media. It seems so inconceivable that it is almost impossible to talk about it. However, the media, under the cover of information and indignation, strive to rehash over and over a crime that no one can imagine. We will not go into the sordid details here which were exhibited in a serious and obsequious tone, we will especially insist on the aspect which concerns us at INAD: the recovery and exploitation of an abominable fact by clairvoyance charlatans for commercial or advertising purposes. The decline of our society seems such that it is legitimate to ask the question: how far are we going to go?

James Ellroy explained it with fierce simplicity and great clarity at the beginning of his novel “A Killer on the Road”: “There is a dynamic in the commercial implementation of horror: serve it garnished with flowery hyperbole, and distance sets in even if the terror is present. Then turn on all the lights of the figurative cliché and you will create a feeling of gratitude because the nightmare will end, a nightmare at first glance too horrible to be true. It is this mechanism, well known to journalists, which appears to us to be at work among some of these forgers and profiteers who pollute the world of clairvoyance. Unconsciously or not, these individuals put themselves on stage and falsely pose as enlightened revealers, intermediaries “charged” almost in spite of themselves with a duty of information, even justice or truth, claiming to assert this right with gifts, each more fictitious than the other.

This is the case of certain clairvoyants who authorized themselves to intervene quickly on social networks via Youtube, suggesting that little Lola would have communicated to them from the dead the details of her horrible assassination. While parents are in mourning and in immense suffering, playing on the atrocity of a murder and the dismay of a family is immoral and unacceptable. Today, it is the Minister of the Interior that we are calling on directly: it is no longer possible to allow such toxic people to act with impunity in our society. It is high time to regulate this profession and block the lines of communication to all those who utter such horrors. When will the government decide to recognize that the aberrations expressed by this type of person can create real mass phenomena among the most vulnerable, but also finish off families already crushed by the weight of pain? Lola’s family was however clear in its statement to the newspaper Le Monde published online on Friday October 21, 2022: “the family asks to stop using “the name and image of their child for political purposes”.

In this same article, President of the Republic Emmanuel Macronfelt that the family “needs the respect and affection of the nation”. Certainly, this call for calm and respect is remarkable, but is it not a dead letter in the face of the surge not only in the media but also that of “misfortune collectors” who abound on the networks?
The limit has been crossed. The most surprising thing is to note that many Youtubers’ channels have been deleted many times for discriminatory remarks against communities or social categories (racism, gays, women, etc.) but that such harmful individuals surfing the wave of murder and horror are not subject to any censorship. What is happening? Is it serious? We do not believe that those who run our country are overwhelmed by social disruption! What will be the consequences of constantly letting this happen? We repeat: “the practice of astrology, clairvoyance and maraboutage must be taken seriously by public authorities. These activities can no longer be seen as harmless leisure activities. The charlatans, the crooks and the enlightened people of clairvoyance and maraboutage can no longer be considered as low-income earners trying to abuse a few isolated naive people. Not only has this uncontrolled and unmonitored activity become an organized system, but in this case it is a large-scale intoxication of minds by people who, if we let them, will gain increasing influence and contribute to destabilizing the entire society, which is already weakened and fractured since the cascading traumatic events (2015 attacks, Samuel Paty, Covid, Ukraine, etc.) that it has suffered for several years.
