The INAD protests against certain more or less dubious practitioners and clairvoyance firms who improperly authorize themselves to state their recommendation and/or their membership of the INAD, or even an imaginary diploma issued by this organization, whose sole aim is to attract consumers who are increasingly suspicious of these sellers of chimeras.
This way of proceeding is particularly dishonest, constitutes false advertising and causes harm to INAD, its members and consumers. Consequently, INAD intends to take all useful actions, particularly on the legal level, with a view to putting an end to these unfair and harmful practices for all consumers. In addition, the INAD reserves the right to name the authors of these practices, on its site: www.inad.info, in a new section, entitled the “list of professionals and firms that we can not consult” in order to warn consumers and take some responsibility for the entire profession whose credibility is in a pitiful state due to the fault of some who deploy a whole arsenal of lying arguments to abuse their clients, often in a situation of great vulnerability. The INAD has in the past published and distributed a similar list with the same title: “Professionals who may not be consulted”. Some of them (responsible for serious abuses) thought it necessary to initiate proceedings against the INAD for wrongful denigration. They were dismissed at the end of a judgment rendered on April 24, 2003 by the Court of Cassation which considered that the INAD consumer association had only used the freedom of criticism inscribed at the very heart of our institutions. (Court of Cass. 2nd civil chamber of April 24, 2003). This judgment set a precedent in relations between the public and clairvoyance professionals.
Four new complaints for fraud, abuse of vulnerability, illegal practice of medicine and mental manipulation will likely be filed soon before the courts of Paris, Nanterre, Lille and Nevers, if the perpetrators of these offenses do not reimburse their victims who decide to assert their rights.
INAD recalls that in recent years, dozens of complaints for scams involving clairvoyance and imaginary occult work have been brought before the courts and those responsible have been tried and often convicted. The INAD would like to specify that only members are recommended who hold a professional membership card, issued under certain conditions, to any qualified practitioner, recognized in one or more areas of the divinatory arts, who has made a commitment to respect the provisions of the Moral Charter of the Profession. The INAD calls on the public authorities in general and the government in particular whose duty is to protect the hundreds of thousands of consumers against the abuses of hope-seekers enriching themselves at the expense of a fragile population through the creation of an independent body in order to prevent individuals or companies organized into veritable industries of human distress from prospering with impunity and causing inevitable tragedies.
INAD proposed to the services of the Ministry of the Interior several immediately operational solutions, including:
I- Registration in the directory of professions in the practice of “occult sciences” as provided for bythe decree of 1987,
II- The granting of a professional card to established and confirmed practitioners,
III- The approval, implementation and application of the Moral Charter of the Profession,
IV- Possibly, the creation and/or designation of a specific organization or department bringing together all the activities of the divinatory arts in order to ensure the control, surveillance of illicit practices and the census of practitioners of the Divinatory Arts on the one hand, and to put an end to the regular practices of hundreds of firms which employ, despite common sense, students, the unemployed, housewives and this without any prior declaration. This practice is common in the world of telephone clairvoyance where professional nicknames hide behind an assumed first name and in the event of difficulties disappear like ghosts. It is worth emphasizing that the creation of such an organization can function, if it is established, without State subsidy but with its approval; the creation of such an organization requires real political will.
