Amélie Garcia & Master Delgado
Alphonse (name changed), victim of a scam, wishes to warn against fraudulent practices orchestrated by two individuals operating in France and Belgium. These so-called “experts” in maraboutage and return of imaginary affection, known under the names of Amélie Garcia and Maître Delgado, are in reality nothing more than crooks exploiting the distress of vulnerable people to enrich themselves.
In a period of great emotional torment, Alphonse sought help from “Master Delgado”, a false marabout like so many others who proliferate on the internet. The latter promised him miraculous solutions to resolve his personal problems through maraboutic rituals.
“He convinced me that he could help me find my happiness again in exchange for €3,500 in cash, which he put in envelopes forbidden to open them. When I finally gave in to my doubts and opened the envelopes, I discovered that the money had been replaced by pieces of paper.” says Alphonse.
In total, this individual extorted €4,000 from him, without offering any real help. When Alphonse demanded a refund, “Master Delgado” dared to claim that the spirits were opposed and demanded an additional €448 to “close” the case. Faced with this blackmail, Alphonse decided to contact INAD who confirmed to him that he was the victim of a scam.
Alphonse tried to get his money back by asking for an amicable refund, but “Master Delgado” flatly refused, leaving him with no choice but to file a complaint. INAD, for its part, tried to contact “Maître Delgado” via the telephone number on its website, without success. It turned out that this number was a prepaid “Loca Mobile” number, used to cover their tracks.
All scammers of this type use well-known methods, such as the money-in-envelope technique, and operate through websites using pseudonyms and false and misleading advertising.
Alphonse suspects that these two names, Amélie Garcia and Maître Delgado, could well belong to one and the same person operating under different identities to better deceive the victims. It is urgent that people who are victims of such practices come together to file a collective complaint and thus put an end to these scams.
