An individual known as David, aka “Nuit Sauvage…”, exploits the fragility and gullibility of certain Internet users on TikTok to extract money from them, claiming to possess miraculous powers. This man claims to have the ability to perform miracles, such as healing through simple contact and premonitory dreams.
David claims to live in the forest and communicate with the spirits of the deceased, reinforcing his mystical image to better manipulate his audience. During his live broadcasts, he persuades his Internet users to make donations in exchange for promises of miracles, and to mention their first name live to guarantee divine intervention. Testimonies are pouring in: desperate, suffering people, in search of desperate solutions, are falling into the trap of its false promises. One poignant story is that of a person suffering from leukemia, supposedly cured by David’s powers. In reality, this person is still battling illness, exposing the cruelty of false promises of cure. Despite numerous denunciations, TikTok has not yet succeeded in stopping the actions of this charlatan. He multiplies accounts to escape reporting, thus increasing his audience and his harmful influence. David plays on the gullibility and naivety of his subscribers, making them believe that he comes from the universe and has supernatural abilities. This psychological manipulation is extremely dangerous, especially for fragile individuals who, under its influence, find themselves financially and emotionally exploited.
“Myself,” a victim of this individual, I was saved by the intervention of a kind person close to him, who directed me to a support group bringing together other victims. Together, we call for vigilance and ask platforms like TikTok to take concrete measures against these fraudulent practices to protect vulnerable users. Several complaints have been filed against David *, but the danger persists. These charlatans discredit those who truly practice professions of spiritual help or support. It is imperative that platforms act quickly and effectively to put an end to these scams, thereby protecting the most vulnerable consumers.
Together, let’s stand together to denounce and stop these indecent practices which exploit the suffering and gullibility of vulnerable people. TikTok and other platforms must be held accountable and must intervene to stop this abuse.
