Social networks: the scourge of the divinatory arts

In a few years, clairvoyance and online fair trade have managed to deprave the profession. Is it too late to raise awareness among the public not to anathema this age-old activity, which is nevertheless recognized when it is practiced by people with a real gift? We think not, but it seems increasingly urgent to us to decipher and denounce what has become a real market dominated by charlatans and crooks adept at staging and extortion. <img width="400px" src="https://res.cloudinary.com/hwk1jj2fj/image/upload/v1785961713/inad/articles/google-migration-2026-08-05/drive-1YC8uzbKvC5Mytcvdwg10W7_fAMxJgilN.png" alt="" /> The virtual world is full of notorious charlatans, professional manipulators, clairvoyants, mages, gurus “Specialists” in contact with the afterlife. Instead, let’s talk about profiteering from the ignorance and pain of others. “Illuminated lights”? We will call them exploiters of sadness. In front of them: beings weakened by grief, ruin, loneliness…people ready to do anything for a few words of comfort or to find a glimmer of hope in an existence that has lost its meaning. Experts in human misery have a perfect understanding of the mechanisms of misfortune: a person who is anguished, desperate or overcome by pain is ready to do anything, in particular to give up their possessions or their savings if the sacrifice annihilates the suffering. This situation seems unbearable to us, it is our duty, the duty of the entire profession not only to denounce this toxic charlatanism, but also to bring together all the means at our disposal to neutralize it. Most forgers of the divinatory arts often have a tumultuous past and an unclear CV. The vast majority of them are appearance artists who would not last long in front of a solid and knowledgeable person, hence their targets, mainly affected and emotionally vulnerable individuals. Filled with bitterness and hatred for lack of a life of personal recognition and accomplishment, they not only practice fraud but also discredit other professionals without hesitating to resort to insult, lies, defamation and blackmail. The consumer cannot and must under no circumstances call on or trust a disrespectful practitioner. How indeed could he respect people who come to him with such a mentality? We hold an immeasurable number of files on dishonest clairvoyants and marabouts whose distinctive sign is the rejection of any objection to their false predictions. Despite the few measures taken so far, they have still managed to cast their shadow over the entire profession. They will stop at nothing to convince: staging in front of the camera, websites…the whole range is deployed to attract future victims. Great practitioners of mimicry, failed actors but with an undoubted power of seduction, it is in their appearance and their imitation of seriousness that they are most dangerous. We initially suggest that consultants multiply their opinions regarding the clairvoyants and the sites consulted. But we are well aware that simple prevention measures will not be enough. Educating consultants is also our mission, the mission of rigorous professionals. Across the entire profession, the number of “honest” practitioners is estimated at 10%.and only 5% of them are able to carry out reliable and satisfactory telephone clairvoyance. We also remind you that a clairvoyance consultation is carried out within the framework of intimacy and mutual trust; a clairvoyant is not omniscient in terms of reading the future and his role also consists of supporting people who, during their journey, feel the need for guidance supported by intuition and the feeling of a being receptive to the powers of the irrational. Often, it will be a person whose empathy is preponderant. Social networks have become, among other things, a minefield for people in distress as well as a place for settling public scores between true and false clairvoyants; which is particularly worrying for the profession which, in the eyes of a large number of our fellow citizens, is considered as an activity of organized fraud, wild and delivered into the hands of a certain number of individuals driven by the lure of gain. We recall that a growing increase in victims has been recorded, attesting to the fact that misfortune makes one extremely vulnerable and deaf to certain warnings. This is why we will continue to strengthen our action and always encourage greater caution and information. The profession must rethink and reshape itself to prosper and regain its letters of nobility. It is time to respect the Code of Ethics of the profession <a href="https://inad.info/documents/charte-de-deontologie">https://inad.info/documents/charte-de-deontologie</a>, to establish work structures, practice and clear limits for everyone. It is imperative to put a definitive end to the actions of charlatans, swindlers and counterfeiters of the divinatory arts by disseminating information by all means and directly preventing them from causing harm. Even in misfortune and (reasoned) suffering, we must remain aware that anguish and the momentary loss of the meaning of life are part of the human condition; remain aware that promises of immediate progress are unrealistic, and that self-serving demands focused on immediate payment are always dubious. Spontaneous contacts announcing a gain of any kind are as much a scam as any other. On the networks, nothing is given, everything is paid for. Urgent incentives to recontact a medium in exchange for crucial information about you always appear in the list of the most effective “catchphrases”, playing on the immediate and emotional aspect. Finally, “phishing”, a process consisting of obtaining private information via a booby-trapped email, has become a daily activity among network business people. Only one attitude to observe: delete all unwanted emails without ever opening them, never respond to unwanted offers of clairvoyance by telephone. Faced with manipulative charlatans, overly “bright” indicators, harbingers of happiness, we must be careful not to take the step too far. A person made vulnerable by misfortune will never be talkative enough to discern that the noose is tightening on them, and under the influence of psychological bias, they will find themselves, despite themselves, sucked into a spiral whose outcome will only aggravate their decline.
