“I am 80 years old, a little deaf, in poor health, alone and a little naive”…
This is how Angéla Chamonix expresses herself, her voice frail but in full possession of her intellectual means, when she contacts INAD to tell her story. A terrible but very real story. She continues her story:
“Since the death of my husband in 2011 and that of my 35-year-old son, life for me had lost all meaning. My days are filled with sorrow, my nights with nightmares. The days pass, merciless and indifferent, agonizing, without a glimmer of hope on the horizon.

She continues, disillusioned:
“My story will be, for some, heartbreakingly naive enough to make you smile, but it could serve as a warning. I was manipulated twice by individuals without scruples or limits, who do not hesitate to take advantage of the suffering of fragile people to rob them. Through this testimony, I wish to ask for help and act to prevent this type of abuse practiced by people who will stop at nothing…”
And to continue:
“….I was contacted by a certain William, a so-called medium. He was able to easily put me at ease and extract from me all the information concerning my situation, my family, my experience, my financial situation… As I needed to talk and confide, he had no problem getting what he wanted. Faced with such helpful and kind attention, I provided a large amount of information, in particular about a scam of which I had been a victim, which had caused me to lose €167,000 in cryptocurrency. This stolen sum represented my entire savings, “my whole life”. Mr. William was understanding, compassionate and assured me that he could help me improve my daily life, namely to compensate for this money by providing me, in his capacity as a medium, with the lotto numbers for the 2 winning draws (I had to win a minimum of €7,000 in each draw!) But a person immersed in misfortune remains weak, often ready to hold on to everything in order not to lose their footing. Scam professionals have a good understanding of the psychology of vulnerable people and know how to exploit their flaws… Before I realized it, at his request, I started by sending him €500 and had to call him back regularly on numbers starting with 08…890, 0892 etc… This gentleman alternated between a friendly and angry temperament and hung up on me when I didn’t agree with him. He wanted to impose his directives, his advice on me and thus establish his influence as a guru. But that didn’t stop him from calling me back from his “so-called” personal number: 01 85 54 02 39, knowing that a desperate old lady is easy prey and that a phone call is sometimes enough to extract her last savings. He also demanded that I call him on the following numbers: 0892 23 9276 0890108882 0890107771 08 92440008 -089116 75 96 0890371000. My telephone bills were becoming enormous. In fact, the call was billed at €0.80 per minute + the cost of the call. He once made me call him for a conversation that lasted an entire afternoon. I don’t even remember everything he told me…”
She takes a break, before continuing his story:
“…In July 2021, one of his secretaries (Did he really have one?) told me that Mr. William was no longer there and that he had gone on vacation. Since that day, he has disappeared, as if vanished into thin air. After extracting the rest of my savings, I obviously no longer represented any interest to him. This man reportedly resides in Tunisia, where I sent him a large sum of money. All telephone numbers certainly belong to the same organization, or group (Proof of regulations in copies). This mishap cost me €7,002. »
“I am having a very hard time with this situation. As if misfortune were coming after me, I went to court yesterday, and I was ordered to pay €1,200/month to the bank for a loan of €17,000 to which I subscribed to pay the tax costs relating to the cryptocurrency scam. To this day I have €50 per week left for all my expenses… I am speaking to you on the advice of a kind female medium, because I have no one else to turn to for help. »

NB: The personal number of the nickname Clairvoyant William corresponds to the company Astrovoyance, which would have branches in Tunisia. Contacted by INAD, the secretary told us that she does not know any William.
