Two complaints for fraud, abuse of weakness and mental manipulation have just been addressed to the Public Prosecutors of Marseille and Grasse against two practitioners of the divinatory arts, one of whom is: “clairvoyant, psychoanalyst (non-qualified), management consultant…”, depending on the circumstances and the clients and the other specialized in occult work. The victims each paid €100,000 and €114,000 respectively for imaginary occult work.
Another complaint for fraud, mental manipulation, abuse of weakness, threats and blackmail under conditions will also be filed, against a clairvoyance firm Audiotel, by the victim who paid more than €116,000, in a few months.
Our opinion: We believe that the managers of certain Audiotels firms and the ‘‘professionals’’ they employ or with whom they collaborate cannot claim to be ignorant of the depressive states and vulnerability of the majority of consumers who use their service in good faith, and who have spent and are spending ‘‘huge sums’’, without any compensation. In most cases this is an abuse of weakness or ignorance and consumer law.
Finally, hundreds or even thousands of consumers in situations of weakness or distress are regularly victims of these Audiotels clairvoyance services which use mental manipulation, tricks and stratagems to convince them by telephone to call one of their clairvoyants or mediums because they have an urgent message to deliver to them. Thus these consumers find themselves trapped by calling the said audiotel clairvoyance services which make them pay an exorbitant price for a “bogus clairvoyance” consultation.
We would like to point out that the INAD made, for several weeks, all the necessary efforts to find an amicable solution with those responsible for the abuse but the latter always adopted, curiously, a benevolent, conciliatory attitude but never followed through.
Hoping, without a doubt, that the social position of their victims would dissuade them from filing a complaint against them.
The facts are particularly serious and the victims are in a situation of extreme weakness, which is why the names of those responsible for the abuse and their victims have been deliberately concealed.
