Clairvoyance and justice

On September 14, 2007, a trial will take place in Paris against the managers of a clairvoyance firm(1), prosecuted for fraud, abuse, weakness, failure to assist a person in danger. They are already known to the courts because they had previously tried to discredit the INAD by suing it. First condemned, the INAD association saw the judgment purely and simply overturned and annulled, and this without referral by the Court of Cassation. (See judicial news section)

What shocks today the defenders of the victims of certain professionals and clairvoyance firms is that far from keeping a low profile, certain rogue clairvoyants (few in number) allow themselves to take to court a consumer defense association, whose judgments have turned against them.

Why so much determination to destroy INAD? For two reasons: firstly because for 20 years the INAD has helped the thousands of victims of numerous practitioners and firms to fight to have their damage recognized and to recover the sums defrauded by these pseudo specialists in clairvoyance, astrology and imaginary occult works. Then because if by chance your association were to lose a lawsuit, this would allow these shadow companies to offer themselves a certain legitimacy in the eyes of the public as well as in the eyes of the State. Enough to continue their dark activities in complete peace.

It is for the same purpose that an individual, who hides behind the nickname “justice alert”, recently sent an email to several members of the INAD. The message, which attempts to discredit the association and its President, indicated in particular “…We are able to reveal certain information on the actions of its president. This information may be widely disseminated to the media and public authorities.” Except that the media were unable to broadcast anything since the journalists who tried to find out more never received a response from Alerte Justice. It therefore turns out that this new attack is indeed the work of one or more pseudo clairvoyants whose victims won their case thanks to the support of INAD.

We have sent a letter to the President of the Republic in order to warn him of the urgency of putting in place a framework or legislation specific to the practice of the divinatory arts. Indeed, if we all remember the Divinitel affair which caused a scandal in the 90s, we must realize that the scam in question then would pass as a news item today. Because to this day, the followers of Divinitel are legion and relieve each of their victims of hundreds of thousands of euros… All this, with virtual impunity since the French Justice system is relatively lenient towards these flashy thugs. Three years ago, Christelle P. was found guilty of having defrauded Mr L. of more than 160,000 euros. Convicted, she must only reimburse her victim 70 euros per month. A nice slap on the wrist and we can happily set off again for another scam!

Although these activities bring in a lot of money for the State, we hope that Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the Republic, will realize that several hundred thousand of our fellow citizens are seeing their despair shamelessly exploited by clairvoyance scammers. We hope that the President of the Republic will be the man of rupture, the one who will clean up the world of divinatory arts, providing a minimum of supervision and control in order to avoid numerous tragedies.
